Paul and Mary Pennington went looking for property after retiring from other careers, and Paul designed the 23,000 square foot Tuscan styled villa and supervised its construction. Their daughter Ronda came on as wedding director. It has been trading since 2006, which makes it the deepest track record of any purpose built wedding venue in Smith County.

The indoor ceremony room has high ceilings and a hardwood platform with room for 220. Outside, a 120 foot stone stamped aisle runs between tall cypress trees to pergola arches. KLTV filmed the place for Proud of East Texas under its original name, Villa di Felicita, which is still the name on its WeddingWire profile and on a good half of the older listings.

An 8,000 square foot venue on a 54 acre property, taking intimate weddings indoors and up to 300 guests outside. What separates it from the rest of this list is that it runs its own catering, bar service and event planning rather than handing you a preferred vendor list and a room key.

It is also the most cross checkable venue in the county. It carries a Visit Tyler listing, a Tyler Area Chamber directory entry, a Lindale Area Chamber entry and a BBB profile, which is four independent records more than most venues here manage.

Its own site quotes venue rental starting in a $3,500 to $6,500 band while wedding directories quote all inclusive packages from around $10,000, so the only number worth planning on is the one in your written quote.

Opened in 2021 and built to a photographer's eye, which shows in how little is in the room. White brick, clean lines, capacity around 180, and it doubles as a rentable photography space when nobody is getting married in it. If your Pinterest board is all white walls and no barn wood, this is the only venue in Tyler that matches it.

It works as a general purpose event hall rather than a wedding specialist, taking quinceañeras, corporate functions and holiday parties as readily as receptions. That is a fair trade if you want a large room and a flexible booking rather than a curated wedding package.

Family owned and operated, open since May 2020. The building runs 4,700 square feet across two floors, heated and cooled throughout, and takes up to 200 guests indoors or out. Tables and chairs come with it. The pond and the surrounding woods do the work a decorator would otherwise have to.

A chapel, an open air covered pavilion a few steps away and a sprawling oak that serves as a third ceremony spot. The chapel and pavilion pairing is unusual here because it means the ceremony and the reception can be twenty feet apart without either being indoors and stuffy or outdoors and exposed.

The original owners announced in late June 2025 that they were shutting the main venue, and Black Dog Functions took over management in July 2025 with a new look and a wider range of events, per CBS19 and KNUE.
