The Best Web Designers in Tyler, Texas

Most results for web design in Tyler belong to agencies somewhere else. These nine firms have a real Tyler address, and here is what each one is good at.

The Short Answer

GroupM7 Design is the safest first call for most Tyler businesses. It works from the chamber building downtown and its BBB file dates the company to 1995. Spade Design and cue:creative are the other two agencies genuinely headquartered here. Every firm on this list has a Tyler street address rather than a service-area landing page.

GroupM7 Design

Downtown, fifth floor of the chamber building

Known for The longest continuous track record of any web shop in East Texas

The Better Business Bureau file was opened in August 2000 and gives a start date of January 1995, which makes GroupM7 the oldest web company on this list by roughly seven years. Thirty-one years in one market is the single most useful signal available in a category where agencies appear and vanish inside a funding cycle.

The work is broader than layout. GroupM7 lists custom programming, logo design, SEO, email and spam filtering, web hosting, and aerial drone photography, and it runs a second office at 300 N Green St in Longview, so a business with locations in both cities deals with one vendor.

Go-to order or tip: Ask who holds the hosting and the email. GroupM7 hosts what it builds, which is convenient until you want to leave, so agree on the exit terms in the first meeting.

Spade Design

Downtown Tyler

Known for A web-first agency headquartered in Tyler rather than visiting it

Spade is one of the few East Texas shops where the website is the main product rather than an add-on to media buying or IT support. The published service list runs from web design and app development through SEO, content, social, branding, and print.

Tyler is the headquarters, with satellite offices in Longview and Rockwall. That is worth knowing rather than worrying about, because the direction of travel matters. An agency based here with offices elsewhere is a different proposition from a Dallas agency with a Tyler page.

Go-to order or tip: Ask which office your project manager sits in and whether design and development happen under the same roof.

cue:creative

On the square, downtown Tyler

Known for Brand and campaign work where the website is one piece of a bigger plan

Founded in 2002 and sitting on the downtown square, cue:creative is a full-service advertising agency first. Brand development, media planning and buying, radio and cable production, outdoor, print, and social all sit alongside website development and hosting.

That makes it the right call when the site is part of a campaign and the wrong call when you need five pages and a contact form. If nobody has ever defined your brand, the agency that also buys your media is a reasonable place to start.

Go-to order or tip: Bring a media budget to the first conversation. The value here is the campaign, and a website priced without one is not what this agency is for.

Bailes + Zindler

South Tyler

Known for Fast, accessible builds pitched at measurable outcomes

Founded in 2016, Bailes + Zindler works from Tyler and Houston and leads with page speed, accessibility, and conversion rather than portfolio screenshots. For a business whose site already exists and simply does not produce enquiries, that framing is the useful one.

The firm also operates a separate Tyler-focused brand, so you may meet the same team under two names. Ask which entity the contract is with.

Go-to order or tip: Ask for two live client sites and run them through Google PageSpeed Insights yourself before you sign anything.

ETV Software

South Beckham Avenue

Known for One shop for the website and the computers behind it

ETV started in 2008 as an IT firm and built a following in oil and gas with its True.Land software before adding web design, digital marketing, and computer repair. It is family owned, sits in a real storefront on Beckham, and is a Tyler Area Chamber member.

The pitch that actually distinguishes it is scope. If your website, your email, your network, and the laptop nobody can log into are all the same problem to you, having one vendor for all of it is worth more than a slightly prettier layout.

Go-to order or tip: If you searched and landed on Web Design In Tyler at 1333 S Beckham, that is the same company under its web-design brand, not a second quote.

etvsoftware.com

Known for Broadcast production sitting next to the website

A full-service agency that has been trading for over a decade, Chesley Bryan handles television and radio commercial production, media placement, graphic and logo design, billboard and print, alongside responsive website design, ecommerce, hosting, and SEO.

Sources disagree on the founding year, listing both 2011 and 2013, so we have not published one. The verifiable part is the mix. Few shops this size can shoot a commercial and rebuild the site it points at.

Go-to order or tip: Worth a call if you already buy radio or cable in the East Texas market and want the landing page to match the spot.

Digital Skyrocket

South Broadway, downtown

Known for Search-led websites from a small founder-run team

Chad Barnes started the company after rebuilding an unmaintainable church website, and the focus has stayed on sites built to rank and generate leads rather than to win design awards. It carries a Better Business Bureau profile and a Tyler Area Chamber listing.

It is a small operation, which cuts both ways. You get the founder on the project, and you should ask what happens to your site when he is on holiday.

Go-to order or tip: Ask to see the search rankings for two clients in your industry, not just the sites themselves.

Hanson Imageworks

University Place, near the UT Tyler side of town

Known for Identity and print work first, with the website built onto the brand

Craig Hanson runs a two-designer studio that teams with copywriters, marketers, and web programmers on identity packages, brand management, print projects, and websites. It has been a Locals Love Us winner in Tyler.

Accounts of when it started vary between the mid eighties and the early nineties, so treat it as a shop that has been doing Tyler brand work for around three decades and skip the anniversary math. Go here if the logo and the letterhead need fixing before the site does.

Go-to order or tip: Best value if you need a full identity. A website alone is not really what this studio is built around.

Green Cat Consulting

South Tyler

Known for Small-budget sites, ongoing maintenance, and accessibility work

Established in 2018 and owned by James Bradley Kidd, Green Cat is a Tyler Area Chamber member offering web design, SEO, hosting, social, accessible web design, and website maintenance. It holds a BBB profile and is not BBB accredited, which we mention because the distinction gets misused in this industry.

It is the smallest operation here and is listed last for that reason, not because the work is worse. For a one-location business that needs a clean site and somebody to keep the plugins updated, smallest is often correct.

Go-to order or tip: Ask specifically about the maintenance plan. That, rather than the build, is what most small Tyler businesses actually run out of.

How did we pick these?

We searched the way a Tyler business owner would, then threw out almost everything the search returned. The first page for web design in Tyler is dominated by companies that are not here. Thrive is in Arlington. Red Spot Design is on LBJ Freeway in Dallas. Lost Highway Media runs a Tyler page from Arlington and near-identical pages for Irving, Torrance, Madisonville, and dozens of other towns. MasseyMedia is in Lufkin. EZMarketing and Townsquare Interactive are not in Texas at all. None of them are frauds, and any of them might do decent work, but a page written by a template that swaps in a city name is not evidence of anything local.

What survived was a street address in Smith County, cross-checked against the Tyler Area Chamber directory, Better Business Bureau files, and Yelp listings updated this year. We cut Stoodeo, a real Tyler agency working since 2006, because its Crunchbase profile is marked permanently closed and we could not confirm it is still trading. We treated ETV Software and Web Design In Tyler as one entry, since the second is the first one's web-design brand two doors down on Beckham.

One disclosure. Our scaffolding tool pre-filled Hello Web Designs, the studio that publishes this site, into the draft because it matched the category. We deleted it. Hello Web Designs is in Paris, more than a hundred miles north, and putting it on a Tyler list would be exactly the service-area padding this article exists to strip out. There are no partners, clients, or sponsored entries on this list.

What should you know before you hire?

Decide first whether you are buying a website or buying marketing, because the two are priced differently and quoted differently. A five-page site for a plumbing company and a rebrand with a media plan behind it are both called web design in the sales conversation, and only one of them costs what you are imagining.

Get quotes from three firms in the same week and give each one the same page list. Ask every one of them the same three questions: who owns the domain, who owns the hosting, and what happens to the site if we stop working together. The answers vary more than the prices do.

Watch for the address. Several companies own Tyler-sounding domains without a Tyler office, and directories such as Expertise and Thumbtack mix genuine local firms in with national ones seamlessly. If a company cannot tell you which building it works from, that is your answer.

What should you do next?

Call GroupM7 and one other firm from the table whose focus matches your actual problem: Spade or Digital Skyrocket if you want the website itself to do more work, cue:creative or Chesley Bryan if the site is part of a campaign, Green Cat if the budget is genuinely small. Two conversations will tell you more about fit than a week of reading portfolios.

If you are hiring for a trade business, our guide to the best roofers in Tyler is a good look at who your competition already is online. More Tyler guides live on the Tyler city page, and the same research applied to other towns sits on the web designers category page, including the equivalent list for Paris, where we do disclose a relationship.

Frequently Asked Questions

None of these firms publish a standard rate card, so every figure you get will be a quote against your scope. Get three, and make sure each one prices the same list of pages, the same content work, and the same ongoing maintenance, because that is where quotes stop being comparable.

Not automatically. What local buys you is a person you can meet, a phone number answered in the same time zone, and somebody who knows what Broadway traffic does to a lunch rush. What it costs you is bench depth. If your project needs a specialist for four weeks, a bigger agency may genuinely be the better fit.

Ask before you sign. Some agencies hand over the domain, the hosting, and the files. Others host what they build and keep the account in their name, which is fine while the relationship works and painful when it ends. Get the answer in writing either way.

Several firms on this list are advertising agencies that also build sites, and a couple are web shops that also market. If you need one site and no campaign, a web-first shop will usually be quicker and cheaper. If the site is part of a broadcast or print push, the agency route saves you coordinating two vendors.

Most of them do. GroupM7, ETV Software, cue:creative, and Green Cat all list hosting or maintenance among their services. Treat that as a monthly line item to budget for rather than an afterthought, and confirm what the fee covers before the first invoice.
